I've been doing this since I was a freshman in high school. It started small — I lived on the lake, and I'd just walk the block knocking on doors asking neighbors if they needed their lawn cut or their yard cleaned up. A few of them said yes, and those few turned into more, and word just kept getting around from there.
Years later, not much has really changed about how I do it — I still show up myself, I still treat every yard like it's the one down the street from where I grew up, and I still care about doing the job right the first time. The only difference now is I've got more equipment, and a lot more of Westchester and Putnam County I get to take care of.
Whether it's a quick mow, a full cleanup, or a hardscape build from the ground up — it's still me behind it, same as when I started.
